Who We Are?
Mission
Harvest Health MD provides compassionate, comprehensive primary care and ancillaries services to diverse populations that often do not have access to affordable healthcare and are disenfranchised by the healthcare system.
Through partnering with the patient and focusing on education, empowerment, accountability, and evidence-based medicine, we are committed to improving the health of our patients mentally, physically emotionally, and spiritually.
Vision
Harvest Health MD will one day be the preeminent multi-specialty direct primary care practice in Savannah, Georgia with multiple practice locations.
Through its expansion, we will maintain our authentic and genuine approach to medicine and the doctor-patient relationship, emphasizing the therapeutic effects of increased time and attention by your physician.
We envision a day when equitable care will no longer be a term to advocate for but will be the standard of care by which all diverse populations experience when interacting with the health care system.

- We value transparent, warm, compassionate care that emphasizes the patient-doctor relationship as being paramount to empowering patients to make positive health changes.

Meet Dr. Lawrence
Dr. Jamal Lawrence, MD, is a double board-certified Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine Physician and the founder and CEO of Harvest Health MD.
He is a New York native who graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a B.A. in Biological Sciences and a Minor in Sociology. A year after graduating, Dr. Lawrence attended Indiana University School of Medicine and later completed his training at the Savannah Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia. Throughout his education and training, Dr. Lawrence has held numerous leadership positions in various organizations and was even recognized on local and national levels for his leadership and service to his community.
Desiring to blend his passion for social issues, business, leadership, mentorship, and community service, Dr. Lawrence has continued to interweave them into his practice of medicine. After learning about the Direct Primary Care (DPC) medical practice model, he founded Harvest Health MD to be able to impact patients on a deeper level – while providing affordable and accessible health care regardless of insurance status. As an extension of Dr. Lawrence, Harvest Health MD seeks to improve the quality of care and healthcare experience for its members and the surrounding community with a special focus on Lifestyle Medicine and Plant-Based Nutrition.
As Dr. Lawrence continues his career, he remains focused on serving his community while bridging the gap between the exam room and community organizations. Dr. Lawrence is also a health and wellness enthusiast, which is demonstrated through his approach to patient care and his own lifestyle choices. As a recent Health Equity Achieved through Lifestyle Medicine (H.E.A.L.) Scholar, Dr. Lawrence has refined his focus, using lifestyle medicine and behavior change as a tool to close the gap in health disparities of chronic diseases that so many marginalized and underserved patients suffer from.
Dr. Lawrence currently resides in Savannah, Georgia with his wife and son and serves as the President of the South Atlantic Medical Association, his local National Medical Association (NMA) chapter. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Lawrence is also a proud member of the American Academic of Family Physicians, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
A Note From Our Founder...
“As the founder of Harvest Health MD, I decided not to just talk about or join in on the problems in healthcare but to try to be a part of the solution. Healthcare delivery has become cumbersome, fragmented, expensive, impersonal and often leaves patients with more questions and confusion than answers, this is not how I believe medicine should be practiced.
Instead of integrating and assimilating into traditional practice, I decided to build my own practice where I would be able to directly impact how patients experienced health care. Harvest Health MD is my version of a solution to the above problems. It is the medical practice that I wanted to see, a practice that values, empowers and supports patients on their journey of becoming their best selves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Join us at Harvest Health MD as we seek to do healthcare differently!”
